Beauty bias

Indie Magazine Project

About the Project

Goal: This magazine was created with the theme of “beauty bias”, addressing various issues such as makeup techniques, appearance-focused ideals, plastic surgery, and extreme dieting. While these may not seem like major problems in today’s society, they are becoming increasingly implicit yet significant concerns. It seeks to deliver a message encouraging people to love and cherish themselves as they are. The aim is to inspire self-esteem and promote the pursuit of beauty in a healthy and self-affirming way.

Type : myself

Duration: 12 weeks

Skills: Id, Ps

A photo was included to illustrate the mindset of a woman who desires to look beautiful even if it means applying heavy makeup, as well as the act of repeatedly altering her appearance after undergoing plastic surgery, unable to be satisfied with the results.

The contents includes makeup BB cream used to conceal features such as freckles or dark circles etc, and featuring people from various ethnic backgrounds. The final page showcases an illustration with the message, "I am beautiful just the way I am."
